The show was so fucking awesome!!! It was the best Metallica show I've been to and
this one made 5. For those of you that don't know me, I'm Hilary. It was totally worth the trip from Oregon. And now my take
of the show:
I meet up with Richard at the bus stop. We go to the hotel, grab lunch and off to the show. Richard is
right. It is the worst location ever for an arena. The line is halfway along the building. I still need to go to willcall
to pick up my concert ticket. I go to will call get the ticket, yada yada yada.
We go back outside and we have 2 options
that will get us on the baricade: Find clubbers in line who will let us "join" them (Richards idea), or stand about 5 feet
from the beginning of the line and when they start letting people in wedge ourselves up there (My idea). Well then Evan comes
up and says "Didn't I meet you guys in Vancouver?" "Yeah you did I remember you" And then I jump in right away: "Are you in
line yet?" "yeah I'm right there" He points to the first people in line. "can we join you?" So we are now first in line! Fuck
yeah!
Richard left this part out of the story but I thought it was too funny so I'm going to include it. A couple of
Even's friends had some hard liquer (sp?) they wanted to sneak into the show. So they came up with the idea of "gouchin' it".
For those of you who don't know what the gouch is it is the part of your body that is between your sack and your butthole.
It's similar to "crotchin' it". So they leave the line with a couple bottles and a roll of ducktape. When they come back thay
were walking very oddly. It reminded me of Deuce Bigalow Male Gigalo where the gigalo had a full body cavity search and you
see him walking out the airport afterwards. It was funny as hell.
So anyway we get into the show. Unforgiven and Memory
YEAH!!!!! I got a highfive from Lars at some point.
After the show was over Lars jumps down off stage in front of us.
He stands behind the security gaurd and is keeping the stick just out of reach. So I pull my shirt over the guardrail where
he can see it. (My Unnamed Chapter of Oregon shirt) He says "You're from Oregon?" "Yeah Portland" I said "You came all the
way here from Portland, OR?" "Yeah" Then he says "That deserves a stick" And then he handed it TO ME! I couldn't believe it!
Fucking awesome man! And that was the show.
The next day I decided I wanted a tattoo. So we go to the tattoo place
and I got the new scary guy on my right hip. And I didn't crush Richard's hand I just gave it a bit of a squeeze when
the tattoo guy got to the sensitive skin that's all.
When I get the pictures developed I'll get them up. Overall it
was great I'd do it again in a heartbeat!
